from Poems - music by Steve Dobrogosz set to Shakespeare, Yeats, Frost, Dickinson and Whitman recorded at SAMI, Stockholm, Sept. 24, 1998 engineered by Jan Wibeck Ten years ago, the unique soprano/mezzosoprano Annika Skoglund and I spent an afternoon at the SAMI studio in Stockholm, intending to make a few demos for what was to be (but never became) a full CD of my Poems pieces for voice and piano. Annika was so completely in sync with the material (and the pianist) that day, that I only regret we didn’t keep going and record the whole set of 15 songs in one sweep. This inspired half hour of music has been sitting on my shelf ever since. I’m very grateful for Annika’s permission to finally release it. No editing of any kind has been made to the original performances. Steve Dobrogosz January 9, 2009
