Albumrecension

Released in conjunction with the full-length Woke Up Sticky album, the EP of the same name, in addition to repeating the title cut, adds three songs not available on the CD version. It begs the question of why these surplus cuts weren't simply included on the album, as there was more than enough space for them to fit. Still, Peter Perrett fans will want to have this, as the three additional tunes are consistent with the quality of the songs that did make the full-length release. [The 2007 Edsel edition included bonus tracks.]

As leader of the Only Ones in the late '70s, Perrett was one of the new wave's most enigmatic cult figures. His mix of then-current punk/new wave sounds with traces of glam and flighty whimsy helped pave the way for the more flexible alternative rock sounds of the 1980s and '90s.
