Biografi

Ingenting is a Norwegian rock band that peaked in popularity during the mid-'90s with a couple Top Ten hit singles, "HIV Positiv" and "Motorsag," and a series of Top 20 albums. After dissolving in 1998, the band mounted a successful comeback several years later. Formed during the '80s in Sandnes, Norway, the band was comprised of Kjartan Osmundsen (vocals, guitar), Ove Morten Grødeland (guitar), Bård Schanche (guitar), Knut Kønigsberg (drums), and Tor-Jan Møller (bass) at its peak in the mid-'90s but underwent numerous lineup changes during its existence. They made their eponymous album debut in 1991 with Ingenting on Steens Records. Upon moving to the Sonet label, Ingenting broke through to mainstream success with their second album, Pass' Ikkje Inn (1993), which reached number 14 on the Norwegian charts and spawned the Top Ten hit single ""HIV Positiv."" The follow-up album, Piknik (1994), was similarly successful, reaching number 12 and spawning the Top Ten hit single "Motorsag." After another Top 20 full-length effort, Dill og Dall (1996), vocalist Kjartan Osmundsen left the band and was replaced temporarily by Michael Ravndal. The departure of Osmundsen essentially marked the end of Ingenting for a half-decade, however, as a compilation album, Samleting (1998), was released and the band's tenure with Sonet concluded. Several years later Osmundsen rejoined the band, and the Top 20 comeback album Nytt (2003) was released on Oslove Records to the delight of longtime fans. The follow-up album, Fine Meg (2004), was unfortunately far less successful, and the band once again dissolved for several years. With new vocalist Kjell Undheim at the helm, Ingenting mounted another remarkable comeback, this time in 2008 with the Top Ten album Kjempegreier, the band's highest-charting full-length effort to date. Universal Music reissued the band's back catalog around the same time.
