Description
Television's top detective is back on the case in the third season of The Closer. Just as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (Golden Globe® winner and Emmy® nominee Kyra Sedgwick) is finding her place in the world, a financial crisis at the Los Angeles Police Department rocks the ground beneath her feet. Her struggle to solve murders on a budget — while protecting individual members of her squad from layoffs, transfers, and early retirements — endangers her friendships, tests her loyalties, and shifts her alliances, as she goes about closing each case. Meanwhile, the long hours Brenda spends on the job could jeopardize her relationship with FBI Special Agent Fritz Howard (Jon Tenney from Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World).

'Closer' Returns in Top Form
The season opener of 'The Closer' is just as gritty and entertaining as the previous episodes. Kyra Sedgwick, and the rest of the cast, are in top form, and they manage to breathe a new life into the basic cop show genre which makes 'The Closer' anything but ordinary. 'Homewrecker' will leave no 'Closer' fan short changed, but instead, it will leave them eager for the next episode.
In the heat of the night...
That's what this show is. Instead of a black detective who is smarter than everyone else working in the south, you have a white blond detective from the south who is smarter than everyone else, working in Los Angeles. The conflicts are highly similar, the feel is highly similar (all the way down to the blues soundtrack) but they really pull it off. It's well done, intelligent, and they achieve the magic that makes you actually care about even the lesser characters. Secretly, I kinda hoped something would happen between the chief and Gabriel, especially since I can't stand the FBI guy that's her BF.

Yes I am only 13 but this is like THE BEST crime drama ever (next to CSI of course). btw that picture that iTunes has up does NOT look at all like Kyra Sedgwick, but I guarantee that this is the REAL DEAL. I find that this show has many unique qualities that other shows don't have like a real perspective on what the legal justice system is really like. Every episode has something new and exciting about every murder on the show which keeps your adrenalline up. I also enjoy that fact that political views are expressed greatly (e.g. the episode with the terrorist) on this show. Way to use freedom of speech!! The other unique quality is that they portray Brenda Lee Johnson as the tough deputy chief, but also as a real person with a real life. 5 stars for being unique and amazing!!!
