Great follow-up

Sneaky Sound System's first, self-titled, album was a fun, unique foray into the indie, retro dance pop scene that Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and other big names have been poaching for years. With their second album, 2, SSS has affirmed itself as the quirky little Australian band that could. Although "2" doesn't break any new ground, it's fun to catch up with the group. The lyrics are even more playful and surreal than the first album, and "2" could easily be a follow-up to The B-52's "Funplex." Connie Mitchell, as usual, has a wonderful and delightfully playful voice; and my only major qualm with the album is that MC Double D's vocals have completely been forgone. Although his presence on the first album was a little overwhelming (and indeed reminiscent of Fred Schneider), I'm sad that he seemingly has been left by the wayside in the vocal department.
