Album Review

Released in 2008, 0.9 is the fourth solo album from rapper Booba, a former member of the legendary French crew Lunatic. The polarizing figure — he’s arguably France’s answer to 50 Cent — offers a hard-hitting set of hip-hop here with beats provided by producers like Therapy, Oneshot, and Haze. With the Caribbean crew Rock City and dancehall artist DeMarco as guests, the album has a surprising reggae influence on some cuts, but at its core, it’s hardcore rap, with tough street singles like “Illégal” and “Game Over.”

The softer side of Booba?

...is there such a thing as the softer side of Booba? I didn't think so until I heard 0.9. I first became a Booba fan when I heard Banlieue featuring R. Kim from his Autopsie Vol. 1. Autopsie Vol. 1 was hardcore, just like I like it. 0.9 is smooth, I was just not expecting it. Still a good buy.

This album was impressive compare to 'Temps Mort", and "Panthéon" . If you speak French you will enjoy the tracks, if not you'll like the beats. My favorites tracks: Illegal, Izi monnaie, Izi Life, Bad Boy Street, and Game Over.
