iTunes Review

While Dr. Dre stays mostly in an undisclosed location working on the elusive Detox album, and Snoop Dogg stays in the spotlight 24-7, some may have forgotten about Tha Dogg Pound, but make no mistake, Daz and Kurupt are busier than ever, constantly grinding on the independent tip, and continuing to put out some of the best gangsta rap in the game, nearly 20 years after they debuted on The Chronic. In the works for several years, 100 Wayz is their seventh group album, and still bangs with the intensity of their early material. Nate Dogg brings the super hook as only he can do it on "Cheat'n Ass Lover," while Lady of Rage goes off on two joints, including one with Snoop. Lyrically they stick to the script with inspired verses about Westside street life and scandalous hoes, while Daz's production (with an assist from Soopafly) is absolutely devastating and funky as can be. At an age where most rappers are retiring or trying to find day jobs, Tha Dogg Pound just keep getting better.
