Amazing
I got this cd after hearing "Speak Easy" and playing it a million times. Maria Taylor's voice is wonderful and the record is consistant and has very little weak spots. She's one of my favorite female vocalists. Saddle Creek has always been a very unique label, and this just proves it. This album is one of the most beautiful i've ever heard.
my wish is for a second album
i got hooked on Xanax after happening across the song online a few months back. So much so I went to see her live at the Troubadour for a fix a few days later (they opened with Xanax, the only song i knew at the time). Wow, that was such an absolutely beautiful and striking performance I bought the album that night, and I havent stopped listening to it since. I hear a lot of noise about this being guitar emo, or emo this and that, but take it from somebody that DESPISES the pretentious, shallow, and self-absorbed emo heard everywhere altogether too often-- this is the real deal holyfield. Honest & original lyrics sung in a way we dont hear with Azure Ray. Really heartfelt stuff, kids. Take a chance, buy this album, and ill bet youll be echoing my wish twice daily before too long.

If you are a fan of Azure Ray, then you will love Maria Taylor. Her heartfelt lyrics leave you with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart. Her soft, beautiful voice is like a whisper in your ear from a loved one. Compare her music to taking a long drive through beautiful scenery, dancing in the rain, lounging in an antiquated coffee shop, sitting in a lush garden, or having a picnic with your loved one.
