Customer Reviews
The ugly side of the 80's
Not all songs in the 80's displayed such lasting appeal as say Run DMC, Duran Duran, Flock of Seagulls just to name a few. This album has the musical style of the hit songs minus the quality and ever important lasting appeal. All in all the background music saves it from a 1 star however the vocals destroy all hope of anything better. Avoid this album by all means.

Lydia Lunch is great overall, but this album is her best work. Lots of raw energy and emotion. This is not an album for the weak at heart. When other bands were getting more commercial and softer than most of the first wave of punk, Lydia takes you the opposite way. Her vocals are like a siren calling you to a vortex of pain. The band complements her with howling guitars and heavy riffs. If you want to listen to Pop 80's tune don't buy. If you want to listen to some music that will make you feel something other than wanting to dance buy this.
