Back to True Musicianship
I came upon this album through a recommendation and have had it on repeat in my iPod ever since. It’s a collection of back-to-basics, roadhouse tunes that will have you groovin’ from the get-go. In an age where the producer has in a sense replaced the artist (or become the artist), it’s good to finally get back to some true musicianship. I’m talkin’ grit ‘n spit, no prisoners rock and roll. These guys didn’t go the route of the modern pop band by layering up pristine over-produced material. They came into the studio and recorded as a band, the way it used to be done. And the result is evident. You can feel the energy and you know this band actually has musical talent and can play together. The trade off between the two lead singers provides a welcomed diversity of sound. Some of the highlights include “Life Ain’t Fair” and “Tired of Being Alone.” Lead singer Cody Sokolski also delivers an outstanding, emotional vocal on “I’m Not That Strong.” All around a great album. Don’t hesitate to buy!
incredible band
Stumbled on this, and it's GREAT. Real American rock, played roadhouse tough. These guys mix up blues, rock, a little bit of country, and a whole lot of rebel attitude and then kick it back out. The album makes you want to head to a bar on a Saturday night, drink a beer, hang with friends, and listen to these guys all night. Life would be good if you got to do that. A must listen.
