a great intro

... to an excellent Dj slash bandleader. don't miss the Nicola Conte rmx of Mastered the Art. phenomenal lounge goodness. the Stevie Wonder cover is hot. the Karl Denson tracks are pretty good but if that's your bag, get Town Called Earth by the Greyboy Allstars (yeah the same band, except without greyboy). it rips.

i heard this at my favorite record store a couple weeks ago. when i asked who it was, they told me it was greyboy's new record released THAT DAY. i was lovin what i was hearin but i couldn't buy it because my funds were too low. i'll have to pick it up sometime.

worth it's weight in gold....

what a great compilation of greyboys work. for me, unwind your mind-hold it down-genevieve are tops on this track listing. brings me back to djing in the early 90's in nola @ hob andcafe instanbul.

San Diego producer and DJ Andreas Stevens, or Greyboy, was initially taken by hip-hop but — because he couldn't find any decent MCs to hook up with — shifted his attention to acid jazz. He was, in fact, the very first American producer to do so. And it was an inspired move. In 1994 Stevens served up his debut solo album, Freestylin', with the help of talented sax player Karl Denson.
