Album Review

REO Speedwagon built their audience through constant touring. Often, their live shows were more exciting than their records, which is what makes You Get What You Play For, a live run-through of their greatest hits, one of their better records of the era.

I remember hearing 'Riding the Storm Out' over the speakers at Tower Records (remember them?) while traveling across the country. Within a minute I had it in my hand to buy. This is REO at their best, before the sugar coated stuff (some of which was not too bad) hit the mainstream.

Sadly REO is now better know for their 80s ballads. Those that have not heard this album will be plesantly surprised that they used to be rock and roll band. I highly recommend this album.

Epic needs to release the entire album, the way it was released on LP back in 1977. Add the two missing tracks, or expand this great, great album to include even more. Can't get enough REO.
