The sound is retro Soul making love to dark, moody Electronica while one of modern music's finest Female Vocalists washes over the collection in all her warm, husky Alto beauty; Billie sounds as if she'd been born in Muscle Shoals rather than West Germany. Somewhere, in an alternate universe, this was No.1 for half a year and produced no less than two No.1 singles: the lost Dusty epic "I've Never Been to Memphis" and the blistering title track.
