iTunes Review
A North Carolina–based producer best known for his mid-'90s work with Jay-Z and Camp Lo, Ski Beatz is largely unknown to standard modern rap fans. But critics and fellow producers have followed his career since he debuted almost 20 years ago as half of Original Flavor (check its debut LP, This Is How It Is). Following up last year's Part 1, 24 Hour Karate School Part 2 finds Ski linking with a large crew of younger, mostly up-and-coming emcees, including Mikey Rocks ("Cotton Candy"), Locksmith ("Metabolic"), and Freddie Gibbs ("Illegal"), as well as more established East Coast cats such as Stat Quo (on the exceptional, guitar-laced "Amnesia" and slow-style headnodder "You Already Know") and Cassidy (the organ-propelled "Majesty"). Like most compilation-style releases, some rappers are vastly better than others, but the beats are the show’s real stars. Two decades deep in the game, Ski still has the flavor.

incredible..
ski beats has done it again.. this only for real hip-hop heads and music lovers..
Yup.
Everything on this joint is creative and musical genius at it's best. The production, the beats, you name it. Ski and crew killed it.
A Second disc full of grandeur beats from Ski ...
I was planning on writing a decently negative review as this album just didn't live up to my expectations based on the first, but looking at it again I just didn't like a few tracks. Having said that; Ski's beats are (as expected) fantastic and the underwhelming lineup (compared to the first Karate School) deliver pretty well on the mic. Sit aside some time to bump this release in your headphones or on some good speakers and you won't be disappointed with the results.
My favorite tracks are "Lookin' For Me," "Larry Bird," & "Amnesia." You can always count on Cassidy to ruin a good beat, and he delivers again on that promise here, skip his track definitely.
