Celebrating 25 years of a great band
The Army Blues have been around since the 1970's, but even though they are the new comers to the military band scene you'd never know it. They play like they've been at it for 100 years. They are the most contemperary sounding army group but without bretraying the tradition of those that go before. The 18-piece ensemble has performed at world-renowned venues including the Monterey Jazz Festival in California, the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, New York City's historic Birdland, and Washington, DC's legendary Blues Alley. This celebrates the bands 25 years of great service to our country. My favorite is the version of Summertime. A jazz standard that they perform with the same excellent verve they do all their numbers. Any Jazz lover should check this group out and if you're already a fan this album is a must have.
Why Conspiracy Theory?
All of the songs on this album are of the high quality music one could expect from the US Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, but Conspiracy Theory is far and away the best song here. It is a dissapointment that I had to buy the entire album for really only one song, although like I said already, the other songs are good. But they pale in comparison to Conspiracy Theory. Why is Conspiracy Theory an Album Only song? Why?
