Velveteen - 27: press sheet
Recording their fourth album, Velveteen spent 27 weeks in the studio. The music of Velveteen always has “a clear profile made up of wholeheartedness and integrity” according to the renowned broadsheet newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Profound lyrics, dreamy yet unpretentious vocals, finetuned arrangements: music of great intimacy and intensity.
Incredible Indie Rock Album
Just wow. What an incredible work of art. Velveteen is an incredible band and this album may be their masterpiece. "27" is the band at their best. The lyrics are written just as well, if not better than, their other albums. Each song is well-composed and the guitar track sound phenomenal. Really beautiful, mellow songs that feel very genuine and real. Velveteen is a band that really knows what they're doing and need to be recognized for the great indie rock band that they are. Sure, they sound a bit like Death Cab (mainly their lead singer bares resemblance to Ben Gibbard) but this band is VERY original in every way and I cant wait to hear whatever they put out next.
