Why must they mess with perfection. These renditions are total crap!!!
Two Stars
Only because John's music was honored, however the way they were performed has a lot to be desired. Let's face it, any great artist's music cannot be imitated or be remade into anything great. Jackson Browne, Bettye, Taj Mahjal and many of these artists are favorites of mine, but they cannot hold a match to John's renditions.
Understand what is special about this!
Fresh takes on classic music by serious respect-worthy musicians who have brains of their own, honoring a master who's gone. What better way to reflect the glorious fact that music is a living, changing thing....
