Fantastic Album
To be honest, I hestiated before purchasing this album. I sorta liked a few song previews I heard, but I couldn't say I really liked them THAT much during my first listen. However, today's my second day returing to this site, still intrigued and curious about this artist and her album. Two hours ago, I pressed "Purchase" and since then I haven't been disappointed. Charlotte is a fantastic artist and I'm glad I bought this album. If you're hesitant, don't worry. You won't be disappointed.
if you want to try some french music....
.... this isn't exactly what i would deem "french pop", as iTunes calls it, but it is fresh, invigorating- and definitely european. this is good for someone who likes air or zero 7 but wants to try the feminine, more... romantic, i guess is the word i want, version. charlotte gainsbourg has the burden and benefit of being the daughter of an unassailably cool and "obscene" singer, serge gainsbourg- and i think you can see a lot of her father's influence in her music. i defy you to listen to the track "the songs that we sing" and not want to buy the album.
Seductively Sweet
Charlotte Gainsbourg's ability to quietly andcalmly wrap you into her world of music is seductive. Her ability to play the piano is strong yet soft. This album cannot be categorized with other musicians tyhat use the paino primarily because Charlotte demonstrates she is on a completly different plateau. I love listening to this album. I would recommentd the Bonus track album because it jsut offers some extra content that is just great to accompany this beautiful album. Of the songs that I have enjoyed most would be 5:55 and Beauty Mark. These songs are well written and performed very well. :)
