If You're New...

If you're new to the trance scene, this is a good place to start, and you have to admit that fifty songs for 10 bucks is pretty sweet. Alas, since there are so many tracks, you might want to listen carefully to the samples, since you might not like every song (this is especially hard when given a thirty second preview of a seven-minute song). However, if you're a fan of trance and have created a taste for trance, this isn't for you. But with fifty tracks, you might find something you like in here.

Qantity vs. Quality

I totally agree with Evanescent feedback. If you new to trance and have not quite developed a taste for one style or another, or looking for a variety to please a crowd then this is a great sample platter. Especially for the money. On the other hand, if you are an avid listener of trance, this can leave a bad aftertaste. I didn't care for the majority of the tracks offered but I thought it was inconsistently laid out. One track would be melodic and then lead into a harder style trance and then head to something more progressive. I couldn’t figure out which direction the album was going. If aligned differently I think I would have enjoyed it more. Although, trying to align 50 different style tracks would be extremely difficult even for the most experienced but does not change my position. All in all 50 tracks for ten bucks is a deal no matter how you look at it. For the jaded, like myself, there are a few good tracks in the mix but new listeners or people looking for variety are going to find the most value of this album. I would give 3.5 stars but since I can’t give that half star it is defiantly worth the round up to 4 stars.
