Go make an album like this after 25 years!

Powerful, energetic, with ample space for both melody and almost superhuman drums, this is all what a current Power Metal album should be. Helloween own the genre, always have, with all the peaks and valleys of their career. Many others have followed, but none of them are or will ever touch Helloween. Highlights of this album for me are Raise the Noise, which surprises you with a flute solo reminiscent more of Thjis Van Leer than Ian Anderson; the beautiful melody of My Sacrifice; Who is Mr.Madman (a bit like in Bowie's Ashes to Ashes, where we learned what happened to Major Tom, here we learn what the Perfect Gentleman's been up to); and the pure Weikiness of The Sage, The Fool, The Sinner. The weak points are few and far between - I don't get You Stupid Mankind, maybe because there have been many better angsty hymns, and Andi's accent in the single "Are you Metal?" is at the same time endearing and borderline parody. But, once again, I am definitely a Happy Helloween fan :)

Sadly, just as they were on the verge...
