Listen and decide

If you are a fan of Kieth's newer material like: KHM, Lost Masters, Spankmaster then I am sure this album is probably worth a listen and a buy. Older Keith fans might want to pass until the full length drops (or pick up the excellent Diesel Truckers). Supposedly the full version of this album includes guest spots and collaborations with half the industry (Rick James, Ike Turner, Snoop, Ice-T) and is going to be something special - these tracks alone are not enough for me, Keith has that lazy cursing rhyme style that he has been using lately and it gets repetitive fast. What's Up Now isnt bad but Frontin' is pretty pathetic compared to not only what is out now but anything Keith has done in the past. H-Bomb is also featured rhyming and on the boards - not much more than a collaborator and has a production / rhyme style that you either love or hate... So check it out, it might be to your tastes but isnt that instant classic.

Born: October 19, 1963 in New York, NY [The Bronx]

Genre: Hip Hop/Rap

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

A onetime psychiatric patient at Bellevue, Keith's lyrical thematics remained as free-flowing here as they ever were with the N.Y. trio, connecting up complex meters with fierce, layers-deep metaphors and veiled criticisms...
