Album Review

A quirky but hard-rockin' band drawing on thrash metal, hard rock and punk influences, the obscure Tad made a memorable, if underrated, contribution to grunge and alternative rock with 8-Way Santa. In contrast to the consistently dark and pessimistic tendencies of many other grunge units, Tad (named after lead singer Tad Doyle) comes across as more fun and lighthearted than anything. Titles like "3-D Witch Hunt," "Jack Pepsi" (a goofy parody of truck driver songs) and "Hedge Hog" point to the fact that Tad isn't without a healthy sense of humor. At times, this abrasive, freewheeling foursome almost sounds like grunge's answer to Aerosmith. But unfortunately, Tad never escaped obscurity.

Grungemania to the maxxx!

Masters of reverse verse chorus verse... meaning...they go hard then poppy and melodic then back to hard.. normally bands go soft/hard/soft.. I don't know where the other albums are on Itunes... this is only 1 of many.. the best is for sure INFRARED RIDING HOOD... get that if anything or if you have doubts, its crazy madd grunge sweetness! they are kinda like mudhoney and nirvana and melvins time era...

It's about time

they finally got one of the best god damn grunge bands ever

Best punk/rock album of its time

To call this "grunge" is as ridiculous sounding now as it was then. This album is just plain great song writing. Much smarter than it ever got credit for being. They were so ridiculously good live they managed to embarrass every other band that played with them. Nothing is heavier, nothing from the pacific northwest at the time was even close to as loud, dirty, and intense. Truly the most under rated and under appreciated band of the era...Buy this album, you won't regret.
