This Compilation Must Have Relevance...Somewhere, Somehow

I have to take the title at its word, that these were #1 rock songs in the 90's. What was wrong with us? Only 3 or 4 of these titles stand the test of time. One Headlight and Lightning Crashes are modern classics, and Breakfast, If You Could, Closing Time and Found out are nice, though perhaps no longer as relevant or purchase worthy as they once were. That's not even half of the songs here. Thank goodness we have the option of buying one song at a time these days.

This collection is utter garbage.

When I first looked at this list, I felt like throwing my computer out the window. This collection is absolutely pitiful... A musical travesty. Whoever cobbled together this list clearly has no knowledge of many great 90's bands. I was glad to at least see the Gin Blossoms, Cranberries, Days of the New, The Wallflowers, and Tonic... But that's no excuse to completely neglect the inclusion of some seriously incredible bands; Blind Melon, Stone Temple Pilots, Beck... I was especially shocked to see that this compilation contains nothing by Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, or the like... And it's beyond aburd that there is no Jane's Addiction, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam.

Obviously

Most of the bands people are saying "should" be on this list aren't Rock-- they're Alternative. I mean seriously, Nirvana a rock band? Pearl Jam? I mean, seriously now.
