Album Review
The well-known title track is included here twice (in English and German versions), and the rest of the album, also split down the middle between English and German lyrics, is rounded out by lightweight new wave pop confections like "?" and "Hangin' on You." Although the record's dated production is clearly a souvenir of the early '80s, Nena's bouncy synth pop is likable just the same.

Great Introduction To A Singer Far More Than Her One-Hit Wonder Status Gives Her Credit For
by RocStarr913Me, like many people, did not know what to expect when I first heard this album, but I soon realized Nena is truly one of the 1980's most underrated bands in this country. Nena's penchant for often beautiful, emotionally-stirring music combined with vocals equally as such touched me in a way very few other performers have. Not only is this album fantastic, but the two original German albums, her self-titled debut and ? (Question Mark), that this international 99 Luftballons album's tracks were selected from are absolutely amazing works and truly must be sought out for anybody who loves 1980's new wave, as well as just pure great pop. ITunes does a great disservice in this country by not having Nena's entire German music catalog in America like it does in Europe & even Canada, because all their music should and must be given the chance to be heard by American ears. Nena's music not only transcends its time, but the German language barrier of Nena's vocals. In America's case, it's also highly recommended for ITunes to make available their little-known second international album It's All In The Game, which is their complete third German album, Feuer & Flamme (Fire & Flame), in English. Everyone out there who thought Nena was only great for "99 Red Balloons" should give this entire album a listen and see for yourselves just how great Nena truly was in the 1980's. Just about nearly every song on this album, except for "Hangin' On You", "Das Land Der Elefanten", & "Unerkannt durch's Marchenland", was among their many German hits (some of them here in English). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Good group but faulty recordings
by PubwvjI enjoy Nena's music but there are flaws in the track, blank spaces in the recordings. I don't know if this is a problem with Apple's copies or deeper but it is really annoying. About 75% through the music it cuts out, comes back, cuts out, comes back... This points out the flaw in Apple's no redownloading policy. I bought it. I should be able to redownload it incase the original didn't download properly.
