Like A True Christmas Miracle!
The very fact that a soundtrack album for "A Christmas Story" has surfaced is a Christmas dream come true. After countless viewings of this marvelous film over the years since it's theatrical, home video and television release, this music is as ingrained in the popular culture and the personal human brain as any music can be. Who can forget the welcoming opening theme tagged here as "Bob's Major Award", or the short but effective cues that played as Scut Farkas chased Ralphie, Randy and friends to and from school in "Jogging To School","And They're Off", "Feet Do Your Stuff" and "Don't Look Back" . Or the suspenseful cue for Flick's unfortunate tounge-to-the-flagpole adventure in "Truth or (Triple Dog) Dare". Yes, Ralphie got his Red Ryder BB Gun, and now we have the score to one of the greatest Christmas movies ever made. All IS right with the world. And the closing credits cue says it all....."Glorious, Beautiful Christmas"!
