iTunes Review
Here is a thoroughly laughable album that’s so overflowing with Stephen Colbert’s lightning-quick wit, you can miss entire jokes by not paying attention for a second. This hilarious holiday album also highlights how Colbert’s comedic brilliance isn’t only limited to lampooning conservative political pundits via counter-hegemonic genius. “Another Christmas Song” kicks off the party swinging like Dean Martin singing with a head full of eggnog and a big band behind him, as Colbert rips on songwriters, record companies, iTunes, Caucasians, tap dancers, his own children, himself and whether the holiday belongs to baby Jesus or Santa Claus — truly no one is safe. Toby Keith parodies himself on “Have I Got a Present for You.” With lyrics like "Well there’s a war on Christmas/ It’s under attack/ But this year America’s taking it back" the song should have been titled “Courtesy Of the Red, White and Green.” Willie Nelson croons about a different kind of green on “Little Dealer Boy” and even Feist shows up to sing “Please Be Patient,” a reworking of “Angels We Have Heard On High,” with lyrics mocking useless customer service representatives worldwide.
Customer Reviews
Great Music and very Funny
After watching the Colber Christmas Special I am very impressed with what they had music wise. The lyrics were both witty and funny and now I can have it saved on my Ipod. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert surprisingly have decent voices. The guest stars made the music great as well especially the nutmeg song by John Legend. I say buy it now!
The Night Before 'A Colbert Christmas'
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the iTunes store, Many albums were stirring, and Colbert's steadily more. His album was hung among the 'TOP's with care, But a grammy-award winning rapper boldly did dare. The challenge was made, the gauntlet on the floor, Unabashed, undeterred, the t.v. pundit gave out a roar. His followers came from afar, from wherever to be found, And overthrew his rival's lead, smote it to the ground. Now the dispute is settled, there can be no speculation, That Stephen Colbert is the voice of this generation!
Can I interest you in some awesome?
I know that Stephen Colbert is a genuis. It's apparent now. And Jon Stewart can go right along with him.
