Album Review
Still looking to recapture the success of their early years with Jeff Deyo, the 2008 lineup of Sonicflood comes within striking distance. This time around, they have shed their major-label deal for an independent album with their self-owned Resonate Records. The production quality is improved from 2004's This Generation, and particularly from their 2006 live recording, Glimpse. As a result, the rock beats shape the songs quite well and drive home the worship message. Rick Heil's songwriting is impressive as always, though it should be noted that the band still tends to put witnessing above innovation. But the result is still a very strong album, like maybe what Steven Curtis Chapman would sound like as a worship leader. Highlights include "Psalm 91," "Aiden," and "How It's Supposed to Be."

A step in the right direction...
The testimony of this current SonicflooD team is amazing. Through much adversity they continue to use their music to bring the good news to every nation...
The fact that this band left their label to produce this album independantly is a good sign.
Musically, this album tends to move back and forth between worshipful prayer and praise, to a rally for those on the fence. This can cause the album to seem disjointed at first listen- but all ultimately points us to seek a "Heart like His."

I missed Sonic Flood! I think they're an awesome band! Their material is well written and their music is penetrating. This new album is awesome, I did expect them to release something great after such a long time of not recoding new material. These new songs are full of energy and inspiration, they make me want to jump and worship The Lord. Good job guys! You guys rock! Praise God!
These guys rock!!!!!!!!
When i went to see these guys for the first time a few summers ago... They blew my mind. I even saw them at the cracker barrel the next morning. I got this cd and a picture signed by them! The songs are heart-warming and they make me cry. But these guys are just way to awesome!!
