Kari's story is about the dreamy anticipation of being on the verge of something great. It's classic music industry folklore: A overwhelmingly talented singer-songwriter with looks and hooks to spare gets caught up in the wicked machine. Twice the subject of a major label release and campaign, Kari never quite delivered the sound that was in-step with the manufactured pop her handlers had planned for her. Subsequently, both projects were shelved. Thankfully along the way, Ms. Kimmel had time to write (delivering a major hit single for American Idol Kimberely Locke with "I Could") and continued to record this project. A Life In A Day is just that: A scrapbook diary of journeys that showcase a mature, searching and passionate soul living on the edge of great expectations in everything from love, live and the pursuit of something more. What a refreshing take on music the Ms. Kimmel has! It's nice to hear good Pop/Rock music without the influence of Hip Hop and Alternative that seems to be infiltrating every thing that comes out these days. If you love good songwriting and hooks with great vocals- you owe it to yourself to check this out!
