Shai Hulud? Indeed..
Shai Hulud is seriously one of the best bands in the hardcore scene, they deliver a truly devine and powerful expostion of influence and an articulate redintion of what metalcore is.., and they can be rightfully considered an original favorite, Also they have recently signed on with metal blade records...and are coming back.
Correction
Actually just a correction to the below post about Chad being the original singer...For those of us who actually grew up in this scene we remember the days of Shai Huluds origins with Damian Moyal (ex-Culture, Morning Again, Bird of Ill Omen, and every other great South FL HC band except Poison the Well) on vocals and Jason Letterman (Where Fear and Weapons Meet) on drums...There are a few of us lucky bastards who even still own the demo recording with Damian singing...As well, Matt Fox was and is an original member of the band and is still rocking hard...Shai Hulud is for sure at the top of the list for South FL (and any other area) HC bands...Purchase this and pop it on your Ipod...Then go back and delete all of your My Chemical Romance and Good Charlotte tracks or stop calling yourself a hardcore kid...One love !

This album is incredible, especially considering Chad Gilbert was 14 (!) when he was vocalist for this band.
