iTunes Review
San Diego indie-rock quartet We Shot the Moon bring an unaffected sweetness and idealism to their sophomore album A Silver Lining (2009). This time out, the group turns up the guitars to flesh out their shimmering keyboard-centered sound. Though these tracks have a cool veneer, singer Jonathan Jones invests them with an earnestness that lends warmth to the sparse, somewhat elliptical lyrics. On certain songs (especially the title number), We Shot the Moon brings to mind the pulsating drive and spiritually tinged idealism of early U2. More often they serve up wide-eyed, clean-edged pop with a cheerful romantic glow, as on “Amy” and “Candles.” A message of hope and friendship binds together such tracks as the synthesizer-dominated “Miracle,” the galloping “Amarillo,” and the thoughtful, slightly drowsy “In Good Time.” Among the highlights is “The Bright Side,” a bubbly little fusion of classical and power-pop motifs. A Silver Lining wins points for its sleek sonic finish and positive lyrical touch.

We Shot the Moon is an incredible band that is really stirring up the music industry. Expect this band to grow very big within the next few years.
I have seen them live before and its awesome.
Great album
I love and adore We Shot The Moon. I have been to many of there concerts since they became a band a few years back and they are the nicest guys in the world. They take a lot of time to hang out with fans and talk to fans. Just a great bunch of guys. Jonathan Jones, the singer, is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I have been listening to him since he was in Waking Ashland before We Shot The Moon existed. These guys are so nice and talented and they deserve to have the recognition that a great band should have. I got this album at one of their shows around a month ago and I honestly listen to it every day. Just a phenominal album. There is not a song on this album I don't like. It is hard to choose a favorite song but if I was forced to it would be between Red Night, Woke Her Up, and The Bright Side. Please support them and buy this album and don't think twice about buying it.
Jonathan Jones
Jonathan Jones has such an amazing voice that carried Waking Ashland and will continue to carry We Shot the Moon. His voice mixed with their flawless lyrics make this a great second album for WSTM.
