A TASTE OF THE TRUTH
What a perfect title for this album. What a singer. What some musicians. A simply great album. Now that I have downloaded mine, I'm gonna go ahead and say, "you've underpriced a work of art by the singin Gene"!! I've been watching reviews an ads about this album coming out and marked my calendar to check at midnight tonight to see if it was up on Itunes. How cool when I found it! Don't miss this one if you love traditional country with a mix of new production. They also seemed to leave a name out. Obviously when you listen you'll hear the unmistakable voice of ALISON KRAUSS on USE ME AGAIN. I'm not sure why they missed that on their titles. Buy it folks. You won't regret it.
Worth the wait!!
I first became aware of Gene Watson back in the mid to late 70's when I heard "Love in the Hot Afternoon" and "The Old Man and his Horn." Those songs just blew me away and I've been a huge Gene fan since. This brand new album is such an amazing treat - all NEW music!! I was so excited and couldn't wait to download the whole thing. The man himself is amazing, too. He battled and beat cancer back in 2000 and had to slow down for a bit, but he's back touring and recording and he remains one of the unsung GIANTS of true country music. Gene's voice is as awesome as ever. He sounds as good now at almost 66 as he did back in the 1970's. Gene is the consummate performer and a singular talent. You can't go wrong with this new album from the awesome Gene Watson from Texas!
