iTunes Review

Heavy Metal went in and out of style and Judas Priest singer Rob Halford spent a few years away from the band he virtually defined. Put back together Judas Priest emerged as a sharper, more focused group that could take on all comers, a tough, daring posture that powers the group as they finish up a fourth decade of service. This live collection recorded on tours in 2005 and 2008 represents all aspects of the band without settling for the predictable crowdpleasers. More recent tracks from their ambitious new studio albums, Angel of Retribution and Nostradamus, settle alongside the classics “Riding on the Wind,” “Beyond the Realms of Death,” and “Dissident Aggressor.” The band even include “Between the Hammer and the Anvil” from the overlooked 1990 Painkiller album. Miraculously, Halford hasn’t lost anything off his voice and still leads the band with the same ironclad authority as the old days. Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing virtually define the “twin-guitar” attack and the band’s rhythm section is never fancy, performing in lockstep.

Ive been waiting for this

This is such a good live album mixing the new and the old and the good with the great!

Live Music Engineers - Take Note

This is truely the best live metal music sound ever captured! Wow, I have not felt this excited about Judas Priest in 28 years! These are some extremely raw versions of a wide range of JP history. All I got to say is Congratualtions! And I will see you in So Cal on 5 Aug!

Halford is still the Metal God

I have faithfully been attending Priest concerts since '88 and 21 years later Halford and the boys sound as good as ever! It's great to see bands like Priest and Maiden still touring and kicking a*$! Rock Hard, Ride Free!

Judas Priest was one of the most influential heavy metal bands of the '70s, spearheading the New Wave of British Heavy Metal late in the decade. Decked out in leather and chains, the band fused the gothic doom of Black Sabbath with the riffs and speed of Led Zeppelin, as well as adding a vicious two-lead guitar attack; in doing so, they set the pace for much popular heavy metal from 1975 until 1985, as well as laying the groundwork for the speed and death metal of the '80s. Formed in Birmingham,...
