Customer Reviews

Ok, I'm hooked

I usually listen to and sing stuff on the lines of Nightwish and Edenbridge. As a woman, I usually just listen to women. I don't know if anyone has heard of the christian rock band Petra, but this is like Petra meets Disturbed meets Nightwish. It's AWSOME. My three favorite bands rolled into a five star package. I'm straight, in highschool, am a woman, and am going to be made fun of for this, but, I LOVE BLIND GUARDIAN! My thanks goes out to those whom gave a review. If not for you, I would not have bought this stuff. Love you all and keep rocking.

Originality is not a dead concept

Blind Guardian has done it. A perfect album. Every song on this album is unique and amazing. Otherland, Turn the Page, etc. Each has its own flavor that changes their sound just a bit, but still rings true to classic Guardian. The songs on this album are some of the best the band has produced. Buy it! P.S. The version sold at Best Buy has a twelfth song (Dead Sound of Misery) and a twelve minute interview.

Hail to the Bards of Metal!

So much awesome. So much. All you Dragonforce fanboys, come back when they get something on the level of Lionheart. A Twist In The Myth is a perfect mix of power metal (Lionheart, The Edge) light-hearted songs for the casual listener (Turn the Page, Another Stranger Me) bard-esque BG trademarks (Skalds and Shadows, Carry The Blessed Home) and Blind Guardian's unique gems, like Otherland and Straight Through The Mirror. Those who have never heard of BG should buy this album, and hopefully go get some of their other ones. Veteran Blind Guardian lovers will be quite happy as well, I think. And for the love of all that's holy, iTunes, give us more Blind Guardian! This store needs albums like A Night At The Opera and Nightfall in Middle-earth!

Forming in the small German town of Krefeld, Blind Guardian perfected a fusion of gothic- and fantasy-tinged European power metal with the velocity and technical precision of speed metal. Members Hansi Kürsch (vocals, bass), Marcus Siepen (guitar), André Olbrich (guitar), and Thomen Stauch (drums) initially called themselves Lucifer's Heritage, but elected to change when a 1986 demo tape began to achieve underground popularity. They signed with the No Remorse label and issued Battalions of Fear in...
