A Cool Twist
This is NOT an ablum for Marley fans. This wonderful tribute by some of Jazz's and R&B's top artists shows that these great songs can translate to many genres. It also allows some great collaborations between some artists that we don't get to hear together often enough. Will Downing's rich voice create's a wonderful ballad of "Is This Love". Lisa Fischer's sultry voice makes " Turn Your Lights Down Low" one great love song. And Marc Antoine's unmistakable guitar stylings mix so very well with Patti Ausitin's voice on "Could You be Loved. If you enjoy jazz and R&B you'll like this tribute album.
Good Music
Here's my take: The best songs on here are the ones without vocals. #3 Get Up, Stand Up #7 Jamming Although #8 Waiting in Vain has a special place in my heart and it sounds pretty good here. Music is music and these were done with love!!!
What a refreshing take on these songs
This is a grat album that has a very fresh take on some of Marley's greatest hits. Although I grew up listening to these songs, my maturing taste in music lead me away from these great tunes. Now I can enjoy them again due to the fresh new sound and complex instrumentation that these artists lend to these calssic tunes.
