Hey Rudy!

A triumphant comeback for Boston's Darkbuster. This album covers all the bases from beginning to end, grabbing influences from ska, punk, oi, hardcore ala boston style with recognition to a great band like Slapshot, and just good ol' fun rock and roll. From a fan that's been around since the earlier days, this is one solid release.

These guys have 'it'

If you like 'punk' music, Boston, and beer, you'll LOVE Darkbuster. If you just like good hard music you'll like these guys. Strong Clash and Social D influence with a great sense of humor (listen to Cantaloupes and Grandma). Try to Make it Right and Shoulda Known Better are standouts. Could be very popular with the right label/management. Right up there with another Boston standout - Dropkick Murphys.

Catchy and melodic boston style punk

First time I heard Darkbuster was at a show where the band I was in opened for them. I was surprised once I heard them because I thought that there probably should have been a better band opening for them. (heh) I was also surprised that their following was so small. The music is great but lyrics could use some work. (can be repetitive) Would like to see what they sound like in a few years. Good album to add to your collection though. Very catchy. Definitely worth the $10.

Boston's Darkbuster formed in 1996 around vocalist/guitarist Lenny Lashley, bassist Mike Gurley, and drummer Eric Edmonston. Fueled by cheap beer and good times, the hard-drinking punk outfit recorded and self-released a nine-song demo in 1997 that set things up nicely for 1999's 22 Songs That You'll Never Want to Hear Again!
