Never ceases to amaze me
Mat Kearney is one of those artists that you just can't ever get tired of listening to. I have listened to what has become my favorite album of '06, "Nothing Left to Lose," repeatedly, and everytime I am amazed at how the album gets better with each and every listen. These four acoustic tracks are no different. Each one tells a beautiful story, which is what Mat is best at doing. The acoustic style really lends itself to these songs. You get to hear the emotion of each song as Mat plays every note and sings every lyric to soulful perfection. I recently saw Mat in concert, and he is definitely the real deal. He also just happens to be from my home state and is one of the nicest and most humble musicians you will probably ever come across. You won't be disappointed if you purchase these. They are just as good as the original versions. Every single one is worth buying!
Beautiful Collection
If you have been wanting Mat's Chicago EP, this is an amazing alternative. He has taken these perfectly selected few to a completely different level. No matter how much you love Mat's music, you will be floored by how he has reinvented these into completely new songs with an entirely new feeling behind them. These songs are more proof of his undeniable talent with live performances and these songs should not be overlooked by anyone.
SWEET TEA!
I've been a Mat Kearney fan since the debut of Bullet back in 2004 when you could only find his album in a few little christian bookstores. That was about three years ago. He just keeps getting better. His acoustic stuff is my favorite. Hope he comes out with a new album soon. Highly recomended. He's real and down to earth. You don't sence any glam-glam. I'ts refreshing. Like Jack Johnson. They're just playing their music. No forced star persona. It's like cold sweet tea on a hot summer day.
