iTunes Review

This acoustic collection of Foreigner classics is also available as part of the Feels Like the First Time collection that also includes Juke Box Heroes and a live video concert, Live in Chicago. This edition of Foreigner includes legendary guitarist Mick Jones, new singer Kelly Hansen, who is a dead ringer for Lou Gramm, and bassist Jeff Pilson and multi-instrumentalist Tom Gimbel. Acoustic interpretations of “Long, Long Way From Home,” “Cold As Ice,” “Juke Box Hero” and “Double Vision” are included along with a convincing version of Elvis Presley’s first Sun Records release, “That’s All Right,” and the first appearance of “The Flame Still Burns,” a track co-written by Mick Jones for the 1998 cult rock movie Still Crazy, where it was performed by Jimmy Nail. Foreigner 2011 still packs quite the punch. Hansen battles the odds and does an admirable job as the lead vocalist.

Foreigner's leader from the beginning has been British guitarist Mick Jones, who first broke into the music biz as a "hired gun" of sorts, appearing on recordings by George Harrison and Peter Frampton, and as part of a later-day version of hard rockers...
