iTunes Review

Caitlin Lynn and Will Snyder arrived in Nashville (she from Baltimore, Maryland and he from London, Kansas) to audition for CMT’s Can You Duet. Neither made the cut, but the show’s judges foresaw a rich chemistry in the contrast of Caitlin’s brazen personality and Will’s humble heartland grit — so they paired them together and after a grueling season, Caitlin & Will became the first season’s champions. The break-up/make-up ballad “Even Now” opens with mellow aplomb, showcasing the duo’s heartbreaking harmonies before “Born Again” delivers an anthemic coming-of-age narrative that is as uplifting as it is catchy. Caitlin’s performance owns this song as well as the EP’s standout track, the twangy and triumphant ballad “Address In The Stars.” But check out the Will-driven “Your Tears Are Comin’.” It’s so steeped in ‘70s Southern rock that should Lynyrd Skynyrd someday need another frontman, they’d be wise to look him up. Of course the two shine best together, most noticeably on the smoky country rocker “Dark Horse” and the bittersweet “Leaves of September.”

... Seriously. Contrive, boring country. I'd much rather listen to Lowell George singing on Little Feat albums, or Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Bonnie Riatt, than this crap. This is contrived I wonder what came over people who produce this stuff. They just don't care anymore. They find an act, record them, then throw it against the wall to see if it sticks. Most of these reviews are probably from friends and local fans.
