Album Review

Las Vegas-based Adelitas Way's polished, chrome-laden modern rock draws its water from the same angsty, aggro-well as bands like Hinder, Godsmack, Burn Halo, Avenged Sevenfold, and Three Days Grace. Bolstered by the admittedly infectious single "Invincible," which wound its way onto the pop culture carousel through TV as the theme song for the weekly World Wrestling Entertainment Superstars show, the band's eponymous debut sizzles with rage, sex, and regret, occasionally veering into "pick yourself up and dust off your coat"-style self-improvement. Founder and lead singer Rick DeJesus sports a familiar, even-handed set of pipes that can go from full-throated metalcore scream to emo crooning at the drop of a needle, and the band kicks up enough noise to satisfy even the most dogmatic hard rock junkie, but Adelitas Way's focus is clearly on the commercial side of success, not the artistic, resulting in what feels more like a calling card than a lightning strike.

Fantastic Album!!

These guys are hard-core!! As soon as I heard them on the radio I rushed out to buy their CD, and I was not disappointed by a single song on the album. They are truly artists. I like all the songs, but I think my favorite one has to be "My Derailment" because it really speaks to me. BUY THEIR CD!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Why arent they more popular....?

Better then 99% of the crap on itunes right now

Adelitas Way Rages Onto the Scene with Decent Tracks

Adelitas Way had big plans for this album. Tracks like "Invincible" and "Scream" could easily have had huge rotations on active rock stations. Unfortunately for them, this album was almost completely overlooked. "Invincible" was featured on the WWE Superstars (the biggest mistake that company has made since the XFL), but was otherwise largely ignored. However, this is where Adelitas Way started making a fan base, and that's understandable. Tracks like "Scream" are quite catchy, but the easy winner here is "So What if You Go," a raging, venom-spewing track that doesn't quit for four minutes. These scales are evened with equally bad tracks like "My Derailment" and the almost laughable "Closer to You." In the end, I became a fan of Adelitas Way with this album. It'll be interesting to see where this band goes.

Key Tracks:
"So What If You Go"
"Scream"
"Brother"
