Adore

Adore is an album you fall in love with over time. Its not going to sweep you off your feet when you first hear it, especially if you're coming from the perspective of Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie. But give it time and understand when its coming from; It has its pure moments of beauty. "To Sheila" and its delicate elegance, "Blank Page" is a binaural moment of doleful beauty, and "For Martha" is possibly the greatest, most beautiful songs the Smashing Pumpkins have recorded.

Solid

though this album may not have Killer singles on it, as a whole it it the most mellow of all Smashing Pumkins albums. If it's the dream pop your into then this will be your favorite album. Great Album

A Unique and Quiet Masterpiece

Personally, I find this album beyond beautiful. Each song blends well with the next one giving the album an overall soft and dramatic sound, as every song is "laid back and smooth". With the exception of Ava Adore, no songs jump out at you or make you want to dance, but rather they lull you in and make you just want to listen to them over and over. This is my favorite Pumpkins album for the particular reason that it makes me want to go to sleep. This is the kind of music that makes you feel, and if you close your eyes and appreciate every moment of the music it will certainly feel like you're dreaming.

Lead guitarist/songwriter Billy Corgan fashioned an amalgam of progressive rock, heavy metal, goth rock, psychedelia, and dream pop, creating a layered, powerful sound driven by swirling, distorted guitars. Corgan was wise enough to exploit his angst-ridden lyrics, yet he never shied away from rock star posturing, even if he did cloak it in allegedly ironic...
