Album Review
With a title that references his breakthrough 1997 album Adrenaline Rush, Twista's 2007 effort is ambitious from the get-go and recalls a time when he represented hardcore hip-hop more than the chart-topping possibilities of guest-starring on R&B-flavored cuts. Twista's fast delivery and sharp verses make him one of the greatest guest rappers in the game, but his iffy relationship with the full-length remains intact, since Adrenaline Rush 2007 is about five cuts too long and shamelessly panders to radio with some uninspired, over-polished moments. "Give It Up" with Pharrell sounds like a track the producer designed for Gwen Stefani, while the too-smooth "Love Rehab" with R. Kelly is only interesting when Twista thanks his beloved for concealing a weapon from the police. While it's moments like these that make the album's title feel like an afterthought, "Say Say" with Cee-Lo and Jazze Pha is filled with infectious hip-hop nostalgia and old-school spirit. "Seven Day Hustle" and "The Come Up" are dedications to hip-hop in motion, while the grimey and satisfying "Trouble" could have fallen off the original Adrenaline Rush. Thanks to an infectious hook and prime sparring between Lil Wayne and Twista, "Whip Game Proper" is a crowd-pleaser that doesn't pander. Little else will have appeal past the hardcore fan base, but they've always been better than most at ignoring the man's shortcomings (limited subject matter, only one style of delivery) and focusing on his strengths (amazing speed and a punch-in-the-gut kind of wit).

Twista-Adrenaline Rush 2007
Having been around for a decade, since his classic Adrenaline Rush. Twista's The Day After suffered sales wise and lost fans. He comes back to the gritty, fire with Adrenaline Rush 2007. Charged: Longtime collaborators, Toxic produce a club banger, that is able to keep a real street feel. With a bouncy club beat, the errie synths add a nice complement and the deep "Charged" between Twista spit work well. 3.5/5 I Ain't That N***a: Toxic is back with a funky synth that is finished with string and piano keys. Twista spits "When it's on it's on, I'll pop a n***a when you wrong you gone, you finna be wiped off the earth like a memory...what's dude name?" 3.5/5 Say Say: One of the throwaway tracks from Cee-Lo and Jazze's unreleased Happy Hour, it's laid back and feel good. It was decent. 3/5 Whip Game Proper: Cuzo's catchy chopped hook with twinkling bells and bangin bass. Twista and Lil Wayne get down for a solid street banger. 3.5/5 No Pistols: Toxic's sped up and choppy latin guitars are interestingly used, as Speed Knot Mobstaz join Twista for a uptempo gun threatening track. 3.5/5 Love Rehab: R. Kelly handles hook and production duties and it is extremely smooth. This is one of Twista's better collabs, the smoothness is great and is nicely fitted. 4/5 Seven Day Hustle: The sample is nicely used, as the feel good claps are nice. However, the choppyness doesn't work too well, it is saved by the horn ending of the beat. Decent. 3/5 Creep Fast: Rumored second single, T-Pain brings his electronic voice and speedy quick spit as well. His hook fits well and this ends up being a highlight. 4/5 Wrist Stay Rocky: Another chopped hook, it got a little tiresome, and the production gets irritating. The trumpets/horn line is nice, but this is a skipper. 2/5 Give It Up: Pharrell has a spare drum/clap production with synth lines. This isn't Twista's comfort zone and he doesn't fit with this track. Lead single that was forced and too much of a crossover move. 2.5/5 The Come Up: Whole song is chopped and I wasn't feelin it. The errie production wasn't too great. 2.5/5 Ain't No H**s: Cuzo has an excellent production and this Bone Thugs and Twista collab works well. This is a great track and a highlight, as the smoothness and quick spitting rappers work well. 4.5/5 Pimp Like Me: Another solid Cuzo track that is uptempo and club ready, as the chopped hook and assisting hi hats are good. Solid track. 3.5/5 Trouble: Dark and menacing piano keys chirp as Twista adds a great street banger. 4/5 Bussin No Discussin: Uptempo that wasn't bad. Ends the album on a nice note. 3.5/5 Overall, Twista's predecessor to his classic Adrenaline Rush, doesn't get the classic tag, but a solid one nonetheless. Those looking for that heat from Twista will sure get it, as "Charged", "I Ain't That N***a" and "Trouble" are excellent dark cuts that have a free firing Twista at his best. "Whip Game Proper" is a solid banger, as latin influenced "No Pistols" works. "Pimp Like Me" and "Ain't No H**s" are great cuts, the latter being the better and a highlight with Bone. "Love Rehab" is extremely smooth and a great love cut, laid back "Say Say" was mild and "Creep Fast" is another good track. "Give It Up", "Seven Day Hustle", "Wrist Stay Rocky" and "The Come Up" hold the album back and are the few missteps. Forced crossover, weak flow, irritable track, and boring track. All together a solid album that brings back that hard spitting Twista. Rating 7.5 out of 10
One Of His Best!
One of the best albums of 2007! Creep Fast Is The Best Song *****
why ?
twista has not grown as an artist. His limitations are clear after listening to this garbage!!!! when you launch a new project you have to overcome repeating the same sound as your last. Twista latest achievement --nothing new same stale & out dated twista. Do you hear a difference ??
