Great CD!
Carl Fischer is on the scene with his new CD "Adverse Times." The Carl Fischer Organic Groove Ensemble lives up to it's name with a tight groove across the play list. Fischer's trumpet sound is large and clear and he displays his melodic conception of rhythm with dynamic solos throughout the CD. Fischer is backed by a super strong band of top musicians who create a great deal of intensity in the music. The rhythm section provides a brilliant and dynamic base with solos to the band. The horns provide stellar soloing along with the addition of soulful vocals. This is a must buy for jazz fans and music lovers!
Simply Amazing Works!
Carl is an absolute virtuoso on trumpet and this new release displays aspects of his abilities both as a trumpet player and as an improvisationalist that will have musicians talking for generations - as does Miles, Maynard, Diz, etc.

Awesome CD!
The best way to face adverse times is through the lens of jazz. Carl Fischer and his band deliver jazz in both purity and complexity. Fischer honors Ferguson and Joel with a fresh twist, and he introduces his own new vibes—it’s all solid delight. This is good music and a must CD for the new decade and for all times.
