iTunes Review

Again into Eyes overflows with brilliantly crafted songs that hinge on haunting melodies with roots in the post-punk realm. “Faith Unfolds” opens like the early ‘80s never ended. With nary a hint of modern-day anachronisms, singer Thomas Cohen croons like a young Peter Murphy over pedaling bass lines, driving drums, and icy synthesizers. The album’s keyboard work is noticeably awesome thanks to founding member Samuel Kilcoyne, son of Add N to (X)'s Barry 7. There’s a palpable chemistry between Kilcoyne and bass player Huw Webb (check out “Days Untrue”); this may be partly due to his being the brother of The Horrors’ Rhys Webb. “Amber Hands” is a dark, rocking standout that sounds like something Alan McGee would have frothed over in the early ‘80s, while the gorgeously gloomy “Sentinal Bloom” conjures the ghosts of 4AD’s heyday.

I like it

Digitalism and Mackintosh Braun gave birth to a drunk crack baby and named it S.C.U.M.

Worth the wait!

What a gorgeous album. Being a S.C.U.M fan long before Again Into Eyes was released, I can safely say it's everything I hoped for and then some.
