Incredible Record
Against The Tides is the debut EP from Stay The Night, a pop rock act out of Southern California. This is a solid effort from start to finish. The band maintains an untiring energy throughout the record, which is most evident in songs such as Plans & Sides as well as their spirited rendition of Gin Blossoms' Hey Jealousy. The vocal hook in Falling In Place is so infectious that you find yourself singing it all day in your head which is a testament to the band's ability to churn out catchy riffs at an alarming rate of consistency. But the real gem of this record can be found, fittingly, at the end. Spinning shows off the band's versatility, from the dynamically-rich guitar playing to the stunning vocal performance, which happens to be the crowning point of the entire release. Very good record!
