Album Review

For Agents of the Underground, the Californian Warped Tour vets in Strung Out continue to churn out their signature brand of pop-punk with a metal slant. After 20 years of going strong, singer Jason Cruz and the gang recruited producer Cameron Webb (Social Distortion, Motörhead) to document their seventh full-length. With big punchy hooks, blistering technical chops, and licks worthy of Headbanger's Ball (complete with dueling harmonies), it's a gritty, fiery affair that shows no signs of the band's wear over time. "Nation of Thieves" pays tribute to Judas Priest's "Breaking the Law" riff, and "Heart Attack" has elements of Maiden, but even with deliberately metal aspects, the music never feels completely metal-minded. Of course, no metal group in their right mind would ever write a song about Andy Warhol. Punk's definitely their first love, and here, Strung Out successfully carve out their own private niche somewhere between the Avenged Sevenfold/AFI types and the NOFXs and Anti-Flags of the world, while showing that they're still a relevant force.

Amazing

This one is up there with Exile in Oblivion. Great album all the way through, but then again, Strung Out never lets us down.

Awesome

I have been a longtime Strung Out fan and I have to say this album actually tops Twisted By Design which is huge, seeing as how that is one of my top 3 albums of all time. These guys make some of the best most unique music around today and anyone who gets a chance to listen to them is privileged. Buy the album, the best songs are Black Crosses and Andy Warhol, two of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

Another Chapter

I thought there last album had some stinkers on it, but Agents of the Underground got me so pumped up I jumped out of my chair today at work with my headphones on, and tore arse around the building like twice. Then went for a walk clenching my fist because I wanted to smash my face through a tree due to the overwhelming awesomeness that was infiltrating my eardrums. Andy Warhol might possibly be the best song they or anyone has ever made. Uplifting, melodic, powerful, catchy, technical, shredding, amazing and unforgettable album. Buy it and support the band they deserve it for making great things to listen to for so many years.
