Never saw it, but this album makes me wish I had
This album really requires more than one listen to fully appreciate. I bought it because I love Adam Pascal's voice, so at first I listened to "Fortune Favors the Brave" a lot. Then I got into "Written in the Stars" and "Elaborate Lives" because I loved Heather Headley, especially with Adam Pascal. Then I heard a version of Elton John's "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" performed by Sherie Rene Scott with Adam as backup, and now my favorites are her songs. I love "Every Story Is a Love Story," and I especially love dancing around my room to "My Strongest Suit." I actually reall got into that song by seeing Idina perform it on the Today Show when she took over the role. And now I love "A Step Too Far" and "Not Me" because it blends the three leads voices together, and they sound amazing. You may not like it on the first, second, or even third listen, but keep listening it. Because it is truly amazing once you really get into it!!

I tried out for this show at my school and got in...knowing none of the songs...I bought the CD and I instantly fell in love with it. Strongest Suit, The Gods Love Nubia, and Dance of the Robe are my personal favorites...then there are the slower ones like Written in the Stars, Elaborate Lives (Reprise), and I Know the Truth....Please you will really love this CD so buy it!!!
Every Story is a Love Story
When I first heard the song "Written in the Stars" I knew I would love Tim Rice and Elton John's Aida. I didn't hope to get to see it for a very long time until I noticed a poster in a store window. The Summer of 2005 introduced me to the characters of Aida, Radames, Amneris, and all the rest when Aida came to our town. We were the first to get it since it closed on Broadway, a feat that I was proud of. My mother and I went to see it and we were entranced by it. The first glance of that museum showroom drew us into a story that "never died." The music was even more phenominal. "Dance of the Robe" brought down the house with a thunderstrom of clapping and Montego Glover was a perfect Aida. Even if you have never seen the show itself, you can really appreciate the music written by the same two men who crafted the original "Lion King" score. Aida is a winner in every aspect and proves that "Every Story is a Love Story."
