Disappointed again with ITunes!
These tracks that come from a DJ mixed set are useless. The intros and outros are tarnished with parts of the preceding tracks, and are not complete tracks in many cases. ITunes electronic/dance selections are far from current and I would like to see these genres get more attention.
DJ mixed sets and how it breaks down
I agree with many of you on here. But keep in mind that when a DJ/Mixer/Producer brings together a compilation, they must first garner the rights to the tracks at an affordable rate. What these DJ's do, is submit the tracks from the event that they played to the label that would be distributing the CD set itself. If the label can not afford or does not want to pony up the royalty rights to these songs, then they are omitted from the compilation much to the disappointment of the DJ who submitted the tracks. In this case, DJ Able. I was at this event in NYC at Crobar for Halloween w/e and I can tell you that the set that Abel played was 100,000% better then what is on this compilation. Many times when these compilations are released through Centaur, Nervous Records, Tommy Boy, etc... it is usually because they already own the rights to the tracks and/or have an agreement in place with respect to the royalties from the artists. For the record, I was just as disappointed as many of you are. The previous Alegria CD set was off the hook! Let's cut DJ Able some slack here. iTunes - This is a great set mix that needs to be posted with not only the individual tracks but also as a mixed album. One cannot enjoy the full satisfaction of the deejay's talent with this kind of presentation. Take some notes from other Dance Music sites, such as Masterbeat dot com.
