Viva Y La Bamba!
this record is beautiful. makes me feel like a kid listening to 78's by the fire. a warm place to be when the rain comes.
How is it that there is no review of this album?
This is the type of band iTunes should be promoting and I would recommend this this album to anyone. Alida St. is an uniquely charming and quietly powerful lo-fi masterpiece. Flourishes of multilingual vocal harmonies and beautifully quaint guitar melodies have an exceptionally immediate impact in spite of their simplicity. Y La Bamba's sound is wrapped in a lush warmth that's as comforting as any good campfire song should be. However there is a deeper emotional quality going on here that seems to transcend the usual acoustic outfit. This is no twee sing-along. This band deserves to sell records more than almost anyone on the iTunes home page. Support underground music!
