Album Review
After the disastrous full-band heavy metal project of Sex & Religion, Steve Vai returned to recording solo with Alien Love Secrets. It's a moodier, more atmospheric collection than his masterpiece, Passion and Warfare, which makes it slightly revelatory. With the new sonic textures, the guitarist again demonstrates his fluid technique, which manages to never become completely mechanical.

Brilliant
by MasterAlexAll great songs here. The Boy from Seattle is an amazing tribute to Hendrix. At 2:30, Vai pulls off a miracle and sounds exactly like Hendrix, which ive never heard from anyone else. Tender Surrender is beautiful and Bad Horsie is extremely technical. This is one of Vai's best albums!

by wheresmaakiThis record is great from top to bottom and displays the many facets of Steve Vai, from shredder to his touching side on Tender Surrender, from his "tribute" to Eric Johnson (The Boy from Seattle ) to his wacky humorous side on Ya-Yo Gakk. This is a must buy!!! Sex & Religion was not a fiasco as this so called "critic/frustrated musician" pointed out , it's just not your typical Vai record but very good anyway.
