Customer Reviews

Worth a listen, but slightly dissapointing for a former fan.

There are about three tracks off of this EP that I really enjoy, but nothing that I would deem truly great or memorable, which is dissapointing considering how much I enjoyed Halifax's past two records. If you've been a long time fan then I would say pick this recording up, for under $6 you can't really go wrong, but don't expect anything more than a taste of the band you once knew.

ugh

All the songs are decent songs however there is no edge, each of them are fairly dull and lifeless compared to what Halifax has done in the past. It's a real let down to wait 6 years and they finaly release something that sounds like it could've been done in about 4 months maybe. It's a shame to see a band like Halifax who was on the brink of something big when we last herd from them go downhill like this

Doesn't Disappoint

Pretty good EP. I wish after so many years Halifax would've released a full-length. but this is still very good. Best Songs: Tonight and Amterdam No Saturation: 8.5/10 great start off kick to the album. Gives you the right feel for what to expect next. The chorus is the best part. Tonight: 10+/10 this song won me over in the first 5 seconds. that intro is awesome. The rest of the song just sounds so good too. MUST listen. Breathe: 9/10 I didn't think this song was that great at first. But I really do like it now. It's a good first single off this album. I guess what I didn't like so much was the chorus. The rest of the song makes up for it though. Amsterdam: 10+/10 I don't know which is my favorite...Amsterdam or Tonight... WOW...this song is great in its entirety. This is why I love Halifax. Everything flows great. The guitars are perfect throughout and the high, faint synth in the chorus makes it sound so good!. ANOTHER MUST LISTEN. Snakeslide: 8.5: After I had multiple orgasms from listening to Amsterdam...I guess it was hard to listen to Snakeslide and really appreciate it. So I had to listen to it later on, by itself. It's a solid song. pretty good. ..doesn't really stand out though. Remember We're Alive: 7.5-8/10..mehhh.. It's alright. Probably my least favorite song on the album. BUY IT it's definitely worth it. Halifax FTW!

Biography

Formed: 2002 in Thousand Oaks, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s

Halifax is a five-piece pop-punk/emo-rock band out of Southern California. Comprised of Mike Hunau (vocals), Chris Brandt (guitar/vocals), Tommy Guindon (drums), Adam Charles (guitar), and Doug Peyton (bass) by the mid-2000s, the group owed much of its rabidly loyal fan base to constant touring and huge amounts of Internet exposure on sites like www.purevolume.com and www.myspace.com. The band formed in 2002; later that year they issued Start Back at Start, a fairly typical emo-pop offering, on ECA...
